We believe in perpetuating the purpose and values of the organization through employees. Team engagement is one of the five core elements we focus on in an effort to elevate our culture together. Today, we wanted to introduce one of our idgroupers, Jim Sparks, so you can learn more about our team members.

Name: Jim Sparks
Role: Research and Strategy Consultant
Years at idgroup: 2 Years
Hometown: Melbourne, Florida

Q. Where did you grow up?

A: Melbourne, Florida

Q. Where do you live currently?

A. Pensacola, Florida. In addition to the amazing people here, I really love Pensacola’s blend of nature and city living. Our home is surrounded by acres of trees, yet we are just minutes away from great local restaurants and shops.

Q. What do you do at idgroup?

A. I am a Research and Strategy Consultant, part of an amazing team dedicated to helping organizations achieve their growth goals and positive impact on people, the planet and their bottom line.

Q. How long have you been with idgroup?

A. I joined idgroup full time in August of 2022 but have been working on special projects here since 2021.

Q. What certain core values do you have in common with idgroup?

A. I am a big believer that businesses have the power to make a positive impact on our community and the world. I am excited by the opportunity to live my values by working at the only Certified B Corporation in Pensacola.

Q. What is your motto?

A. Help if you are able to help and give with no thought of getting. Do the right thing for the right reason today and don’t lose sleep over yesterday or tomorrow.

Q. What is your favorite hobby?

A. Going on little adventures with my wife, Kellie, is number one. Beyond that, I love mountain biking and playing racquetball.

Q. We heard you have a beautiful home garden, tell us about it!

A. I actually do have a really cool vertical garden I bought during covid that grows 48 plants simultaneously. At one point I had spinach, kale, violas, cucumbers and musk melons growing in my living room! I want to try some new crops but it keeps producing bell peppers and cherry tomatoes - so I can’t bring myself to tear them out and start over. We also have two great cats that deserve a mention and only occasionally knock off all our tomatoes.

Q. We’ve heard you’re actively volunteering and giving back. Tell us more.

A. I serve on the board and volunteer with a number of organizations that are working to benefit our community. One that perfectly aligns with my belief in business as a force for good is Pensapreneur Kids. We host the Pensacola Children’s Business Fair where children learn financial literacy through entrepreneurship. It is truly a gift to work with these young people who are destined to grow up to be the next generation of business leaders.
